When is new GUI coming ?

Question

I thought new GUI system will appear in 4.3 version. But seems it's not. Anybody know anything about this ???

Unity stated at Unite that the new GUI will not be in 4.3, but will be in the 4.x release cycle.

I don't get it. It was explicitly said it wont be in 4.3 and yet so many people are surprised by lack of it in this version.

People might be confusing it with the 2D improvements that were announced for 4.3:

It will be in Unity 4.6

What is happening with the new GUI system? The new GUI system will be in Unity 4.6, which will be released this Summer.
