Question by DrKucho · Feb 04, 2014 at 01:36 AM · shadowslightmapbake

Shadows get too Dark when BAKING on Unity Free

when i create regular shadows i can make them harder and lighter with the strength parameter , but when i create baked shadows , they always get very dark , no matter what i do , the unity documentation here

http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/Lightmapping.html http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/LightmappingInDepth.html

shows a lot of parameters i can't see on the light map window, so i assume these docs are for pro version only ( would be nice if they make this clear on the docs page if that is the case)

i just can't believe the baked shadows have to be this hard as i am getting, i have seen a video on youtube of a guy baking shadows with unity free and they were looking much more "transparent"

is there any "Strength" parameter for baked shadows just like the real time ones? am i missing something?

thanks in advance alt text

indeed, it was the ambient light, for some reason $$anonymous$$e was set to black color!!! , so all the lighting on the buildings was because of the directional light i had, that was causing the shadows to be too strong, thanks
