Make animated character's hands steady
Hi, I have an animated mecanim character that uses a weapon. The running animation makes his hands move around a lot, and since the weapon is attached to them it makes the character's aim really awful.
Is there a way to override the hands animation and force them to keep looking forward while in a particular animation ?

Yes - that's what Body Masks are for.
body mask won't animate the hands at all. I need the animation to be taken into account and then make the hands look in a certain direction.
Don't exclude the hands from your running animation. Ins$$anonymous$$d, create a separate animation layer with a Body $$anonymous$$ask that only animates the hands, and set the layer blending mode to override that of the base layer.
The thing is, i tried that, and i couldn't get the tunning right (I'm not good at animating). If there is no way around it, I think I'll manually manipulate the concerned bones to look at a target directly through script.
