How to manage large 2D worlds?
Hello everyone. So I'm making a 2D Metroidvania game similar to Hollow Knight, Ori, etc. and my question is how to manage large seamless worlds as these games do? They don't seem to have any loading screens (well, Hollow Knight kinda does, but Ori doesn't), but I don't think they are completely solid either. So do I make some kind of a chunk system to load as a player moves or is there any other way to make the game perform well and look like it has a solid world?
Thanks in advance!
