Layers from PSD as sprites, support in 4.3?
Are there any plans to support multi-layered PSD's to create a sprite atlas from in 4.3? Specifically, bringing a multi-layer PSD into Unity (with possibly overlapping sprites but all on separate layers), and having Unity automatically separate those layers in the sprite editor for slicing. This allows the artist to create the character or what have you in Photoshop without having to manually create the atlas in order to slice it in Unity.

Though an old question I notice it is still high up in Google Search results. I do not think they have support for multi-layered PSD to sprite atlas yet, but the following plugin allows you to automate the atlas creation as well as the slice naming based on the layer names.
