Maya animation curves and assigning to multiple unity objects
Having a little problem that someone may be able to shed light on.
In Maya I created a CV path and attached an object to go along it
I imported this file to Unity as a new FBX and created a new prefab solely as a way to get the animation into Unity as it needs to be attached to something.
Putting this new prefab in game shows that the animation works.
I then linked this animation in unity to a different prefab but no animation happens, the object just sits there.
Any ideas on why would be welcome, I was under the impression this should work.
I also duplicated the animation so I could delete the newly imported FBX and just be left with the animation. Trying to look at this animation in the animation window however doesn't reveal anything as it doesn't show up! It does however work if I assign it to the original imported FBX-prefab but doesn't work if I assign it to a different Prefab.

Are the names in both structures identical? that would be problem number 1 why it doesn't work. Animation curves are assign by object name/path.

The only difference I can see is that the same node on the other model has (mesh filter) on the end of its prefix. The animation curves don't seem to be copying across to the object.
