Unity stops working at startup (Windows 8)

Question

I installed Unity successfully, but whenever I try to open it in a new project, it crashes.

Try to run in Compatibility Mode, make sure you got the latest version too!

Try not opening old projects and creating your own from scratch. Sometimes the old versions of the projects becoome corrupted. I have been there several times before. Try importing the assets from the old versions one by one.
