How do i go about rigging and animating?
Is the anything different about rigging and animating assets for unity (I use blender) I've watched some blender to unity tutorials for low poly assets but they never include animations walkthroughs.
Rigging and animating in blender has nothing to do with Unity. There is nothing special about Unity when it comes to making assets. Please use google to find your own blender tutorials :)
Firstly you can use most character tutorials in Blender forum to rig your space ship. Alternatively, you could import the spaceship into Unity without rig, and create the animation of the meshes in Unity. In most circumstances, I prefer the first approach. I treat Unity as a cooking pot. I prepare the vegetables, salt and pepper and meat outside the pot. When they are ready (cut & marinated) for making soup, I put everything in to the pot and boil them (...rather than cutting the vegetables inside the pot).
Cutting Vegetables inside the pot turns out to be much harder and way less accurate than doing it beforehand. Thats why you should only cut vegetables inside pots, when it's very very easy to do ;)
