exporting animations
Hi everyone! I'm trying to do animations now in my game. I'v downloaded models for 3ds max, I'v animated it, I saw how to export it, but when I exported it into unity, it came without animations (only the model)! In the 3ds max the animation it fine, I'v exported it into fbx file, so what is the problem? thanks for all helpers!
r u using vertex based animations? Because if you are you can't export it unless u have a plugin.
Hi,
sorry I am bumping this old one. I try to get that working from max 2012 to Unity 4.6.
I have rigged and animated an object in max, exported well following all the steps on those linkty but I just cant get any animation in Unity working.
I am pretty sure I am missing some tickbox in Unity but it is not specified on this doc, not sure what should I tick to activate my animation and make it loop.
I had to set my animation as legacy .... I wish there was as step by step doc somewhere ... thanks Youtube. Still have a problem with my orientation axes messed up but that seems to be a separate issue...

This page:
http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/HOWTO-ImportObjectMax.html
talks about the export process from Max, and this page:
http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Components/FBXImporter-Animations.html
talks about animation import settings.
