making a dark cave
Hi , i am making a level in my game and there is a small cave in it , i am using directional light for the level , but i want to make the cave dark (No lighted) , how could i make that , thanks for your time
If you want it dark, just don't put a light in it. You can disable the light as the character enters the cave.
Without light inside the cave, it will be pitch black. I would place a directional light at the entrance orientated towards the cave with a low intensity. This way, as you get deeper in the cave, it gets darker. But you mentioned no light so maybe applying a lens to the camera when you get in...
A directional light really is just a direction -- there's no location (it's ignored,) so no fall-off. They run faster, and work fine for things like the sun. For fall-off use a pointLight or spotLight (same thing, but spotlight has an extra angle limitation.)

I just turned my Ambient Light down, to very dark. After that, i simply added some light on sticks, in order to simulate the darkness vs. light feeling. You may add as much light as you want (which is probably not as much as in my cave, as i kinda wanted it to be lit. http://imgur.com/0rkq5
