Bumped Lightmapped not working?
Hi, I've just noticed my normal maps aren't rendering on objects that have been lightmapped. I did a search here and found a couple of posts from last year suggesting that normal/bumped shading doesn't work with lightmaps without writing a specialised shader. Is this correct, and is it still the case? Does anyone know if there's a shader available anywhere, or other workaround to achieve this?
Thanks

Logic may dictate that it cant be lightmapped and bumped map as bump mapping is dictating how a surface recieves shadows from outside light and light mapping predetermines how light is applied. You would have to light map it so it appears bump mapped and I'm not even sure if that's possible, though someone out there may know a better way to achieve what you want.
Thanks, I know what you mean, but can't the two effects be layered, e.g. once the shading of the surface is lightmapped, then normal mapping could still lighten/darken those pixels further. I've now found that using dual lightmaps you will see the bumped shading within the near map.
Hey thats a pretty handy fix we shall have to try that cheers
