Creating a simple AI pathfinding using Unity free version.

Hiya,

I was wondering if there are ways of creating a AI pathfinding because so far from looking at tutorials a few do require Unity Pro which use NavMesh.

Was wondering what is an alternative in the free version. How else can a create an abstract grid for which AI can relate to and these grids will use the points as the nodes for checking collision and the way points.

Unfortunately Navmesh and pathfinding is a Pro only feature, However you can find assets from the asset store that can be used with the free versions of Unity. The following worked with free:

https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/#/content/7086

This was the only one I tested, however there are many that will do the job, speak to the publisher if you are unsure if it will work with free or not.

I did a small investigation and this one was the best free option: https://arongranberg.com/astar/download
