Definitive Android

Is there a definitive Android tutorial out there for building and deploying? I've been following a number online, but I'm running into errors. I've heard apparently you need some kind of google libs package to work, but I've tried that and it says it can't find the appropriate jar file in my Java_Home. I'm so confused, I'd love some help!
