Life script how to add.
Hello I have an AI script:
var target : Transform; //the enemy's target
var moveSpeed = 10; //move speed
var rotationSpeed = 6; //speed of turning
var attackThreshold = 1.5; // distance within which to attack
var chaseThreshold = 10; // distance within which to start chasing
var giveUpThreshold = 20; // distance beyond which AI gives up
var attackRepeatTime = 1; // delay between attacks when within range
private var chasing = false;
private var attackTime = Time.time;
var myTransform : Transform; //current transform data of this enemy
function Awake()
{
myTransform = transform; //cache transform data for easy access/preformance
}
function Start () {
if (target == null && GameObject.FindWithTag("Player"))
target = GameObject.FindWithTag("Player").transform;
}
function Update (){
// check distance to target every frame:
var distance = (target.position - myTransform.position).magnitude;
if (chasing) {
//rotate to look at the player
myTransform.rotation = Quaternion.Slerp(myTransform.rotation,
Quaternion.LookRotation(target.position - myTransform.position), rotationSpeed*Time.deltaTime);
//move towards the player
myTransform.position += myTransform.forward * moveSpeed * Time.deltaTime;
// give up, if too far away from target:
if (distance > giveUpThreshold)
chasing = false;
// attack, if close enough, and if time is OK:
if (distance < attackThreshold && Time.time > attackRepeatTime) {
target.SendMessage("hitPoints",-10);
// Attack! (call whatever attack function you like here)
}
if (distance < attackThreshold) {
moveSpeed=3;
//stop when close enough
}
attackTime = Time.time+ attackRepeatTime;
}
else {
// not currently chasing.
// start chasing if target comes close enough
if (distance < chaseThreshold) {
chasing = true;
}
}
}
function OnTriggerEnter (other: Collider) {
if (other.gameObject.CompareTag("Bullet")){
chaseThreshold=100000000;
}
}
And a life script
var hitPoints : int = 10;
var GameOverLevel : String;
var Damage = 5;
var EnemyProjectile : Transform;
function OnCollisionEnter(myCollider : Collider)
{
if(myCollider.gameObject.name == (EnemyProjectile))
{
hitPoints -= Damage;
}
}
function OnGUI()
{
GUI.Label (Rect (25, 25, 100, 30), "life: "+hitPoints);
}
function update()
{
if (hitPoints == 0)
{
Application.LoadLevel (GameOverLevel);
}
}
but my AI didn't give my player damage how to fix this in that script?
Could you please format your code appropriately? Troubleshooting someone else's code without explanation is difficult enough as is.

if(myCollider.gameObject.name == (EnemyProjectile)) ...
It looks like you are trying to compare GameObject.name, which is a string, with EnemyProjectile, which you have declared is a Transform. Unless there is an implicit cast for this I don't believe it's possible. Here is one alternative: add a new custom tag "Projectile" in the editor and assign your projectile object with it, leaving out the Transform variable altogether, and use this:
if ( myCollider.CompareTag("Projectile") ) {
// Do damage if we are tagged "Projectile" in the editor
}
