[Solved] Keeping feet planted (Mecanim)
I've asked this in the forums too, but things tend to vanish quickly there so here it is again for posterity:
Take two Idle animations. They're completely identical except #2 has some pelvic movement (up and down, no rotation) and spinal twist (looking slightly left/right). These are exported from CS in Max, and they look fine as Legacy animation, but in Mecanim I can't stop #2's feet from floating. I've tried every root controller combo, baked & not, deleted and recreated animations and Controllers, tried IK Pass on and off...exactly the same results every time: the whole character is getting rotation from somewhere, possibly the spine.
Is there a specific step I'm missing for foot IK/planting (other than the option of overriding them via IK targetting)?
Edit: Solved by deleting & rebuilding everything. No idea what the cause was sadly.
Anyone know why this may happen? I'd not say the question was solved :)
