trouble making springboard prefab. is this impossible?
so today i made a sweet little springboard that works well. i wanted to make a prefab of it so i could access it in other levels. the springboard consists of these parts... a base: the top board: a cue animation trigger box: and an invisible plane that animates and lifts the character into the air. when you jump onto the springboard it triggers the top animation to give off the illusion that it is what is sending you up... the trigger also has another script linked to it that sends the invisible plane that actually lifts the player. i made the invisible plane and the top part in their own empty so i can move it around and the animations play locally. but i still would like to use it in other levels without recreating it every time. is there a way to put all of these components into a prefab and place it wherever i want? this has been an ongoing problem and i use unity answers once before. i try not to bother the community with my problems if i can research and find my solutions...unfortunately i haven't come across any answers for this single problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again!
Have you tried putting all of these items in a prefab and encountered a problem? You can put prefabs inside of larger prefabs. You can have an empty gameObject hold everything if you need a container.
yeah of course. it sucks because it seems like the obvious thing to do. it hinders all of the animations or causes things to act weird. i wonder if anyone has run across this problem.
i really hope this can be done. i see people with large animated character prefabs. please help. anyone.
why doesn't this work! i am beyond frustrated. i literally remake all of my springboard assets from scratch and it is taking up quite a bit of memory. (sigh)
