Vertex based animations in Unity
Hi,
In your forum I read on an old post (2009) that Unity3D will support vertex animations soon, so hopefully 2 years later this feature is now implemented.
So my qustion is :
How could I import vertex based animations from maya and use it in Unity?
If Unity still does not support vertex based animations - is there any third party solution out there - even if its not cheap?
thank you in advance.
here is an example http://breccasfall.com/unity/crea$$anonymous$$face.html

Unity doesn't support vertex based animations out of the box.
There are solutions available (I believe for free). Just search forum.unity3d.com or the asset store.

MegaFiers will allow you to use your vertex animations either as morphs or point cache files such as .mdd or .pc2. More info http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/89750-Mega-Fiers.-A-mesh-deformation-system-RELEASE?p=691276&viewfull=1#post691276
neat have you gotten this to work with $$anonymous$$arvelous Designer by any chance?
$$anonymous$$arvelous designer exports to all three formats supported by the $$anonymous$$egaFiers vertex animation system so it will work no problem at all.
