Question by Kiloblargh · Nov 25, 2012 at 01:49 AM · meshglitchvertexlodrefresh

What causes glitching in mesh refresh and how to stop it?

I'm doing a custom terrain mesh, with its own (hacky) L.O.D. handling.

Sometimes when the mesh changes, there's a visual 'hiccup' where it goes all out of wack for one frame and then returns to normal. I think I've seen professional shipped games that do this, so it may be hard to avoid; but it doesn't happen all the time. I'm just having a hard time figuring out what is going on the times it does happen vs. the times where it doesn't.

Here's a webplayer link since it's easier shown than explained...

Just throw in a

 yield WaitForEndOfFrame();

right before the line you move the mesh, and it won't move it before the vertices have been updated.
