How do i reduce apk size while maintaining good graphics?
I have a flight simulator game, where I only have one base (green grass and some buildings) , some ships, some airplanes, some big mountains..etc, I though prefabs are taking too much space, but iam not sure if they fall under the category of Textures because textures turned up to be where the trouble is, my apk file size is about 73MB , choosing the "ARM v7 only " option only bring it down about 8 MB or so, making it about 65MB which doesn't help me very much, this is the Editor Log results:
I think that according to the following statistics, the aircraft parts are taking a lot:
Any Ideas? thanks
If you have a problem with a 65mb mobile game, then I'm not sure what you are expecting. Ass @arielsan said you can use Asset Bundles. Reducing texture size will have a $$anonymous$$imal effect on your size, but nonetheless will help. I'm not sure what kind of textures you are using for such a massive texture size, normally bloated size comes from audio.

Yep, you can use Asset Bundles, PNG files in Resources are not compressed (file size), so they are treated like bitmaps, for example, if you have a texture rgba8888 of 1024x1024 then it weight 32MB for Unity, both in disk and in gpu memory.
However, if you use asset bundles, then the texture is going to be compressed by the bundle, it will only weight 32MB in gpu memory.
We are using that for our game in order to reduce the game size.
