My compiler Monodevelop doesn't build.
I have no idea what to do, but whenever I want to compile a script the MonoDevelop does not compile. I know the code I used was correct and I can do nothing about it, it simply says that I lack ??? (nothing)
#pragma strict
function Start () {
print(“Hello Console!”);
}
I get one error, and it is blank, the script wont compile, what could cause this? It applies both to C# and to JS.
how about this. Does this work?
#pragma strict
function Start(){
print("Hello Console!");
}
just copy and paste, pretty sure its just those signs " " that are making the error
What do you mean by "compile"? What exactly are you trying to do?
The quotation marks look strange. Have you tried the code Dimling offers?

I'm not sure what you want to archive with this script but I'm going to try my best to guide you to the result you want.
First of all, this script won't produce any output to the console if you are not adding the scripts to any objects in your scene. So to get some output you can create a empty "game object", or maybe a cube if you like, to the scene and drag the script on to the object.
When you now play the "game" you should be able to see the text "Hello Console" in the console. Double-clicking an error in the Status Bar or choosing Window->Console will bring up the Console.
But still i think those quotation looks a bit weird, and you should try to change them as I earlier suggested.
Good luck!
The problem is the game wont start if there are any compiler errors I know how to attach a script but something is wrong with it. I have no idea where the problem is :/
have you tried copy and pasting the code dimling offered? What are you errors? We can't help you unless you at least try to give us some information to go on.
Namespace 'UnityEditor' not found, maybe you forgot to add an assembly reference? (BCE0021)
I googled it, but it didn't help me much, it didn't pop up in the error log but in the right corner of $$anonymous$$onoDevelop :/
I used the code that dimmling gave me, it still does not work
