car moving up and down rapidly as soon as it hits the terrain

Im a begineer and creating my first car game in unity for android.I decided to use unity standard asset.I downloaded my car model from internet. I have inserted the empty car prefab into my scene.when i bring my model into scece,asssign wheel to respective collider, and play the car starts flying up and down as soon as it hits the surface.i have no control on car.But When i use default unity skycar model it is fine.It works perfectly and moves easily in terrain. so pls help me asap

What collider did you attach? I tried box or sphere, to the top level item. But all get is a car that does somersaults when I add forces to move it.

Set the car's rigidbody mass to 1500.
