Image Effects minimum hardware requirements
Is there anywhere that I can find a list of the hardware that supports the OpenGL ES2.0 specs required for the image effects? On one of the Unity pages, it says:
Image Effects require render-to-texture functionality, which is generally supported on anything made in this millenium. However, all except the simplest effects require quite programmable pixel shaders, so for all practical purposes they require Shader Model 2.0 on desktop (discrete GPUs since 2003; integrated GPUs since 2005) and OpenGL ES 2.0 on mobile platforms.
My client has questions about the specifics of "generally supported on anything made this millenium". The project will be Mac/PC browser based... not mobile. Is it safe to tell him that pretty much anything with Windows XP or better or an Intel Mac OS would be safe?
I realize that the actual support is hardware based, not OS, but I need something in "clientese" to tell him.
Thanks in advance!
Apple didn't start making Intel-macs until '05ish if I remember correctly, so you would have to look pretty hard to find one that doesn't have the $$anonymous$$imum specs.
