It's not out and there's no indication it will ever be released, particularly given the recent news about Chrome and plugins.

Unity Technologies do not provide a Unity Web Player for Linux browsers. I also haven't heard any plans on doing so.
Workaround:
Previously Linux users tried to install Windows versions of internet browsers to run the Unity Web Player using Wine.
The Pipelight project has made a plugin for native Linux browsers. It still uses Wine, but at least you won't deal with Windows versions of internet browsers. See the community set up wiki page - http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php/Running_Unity_Web_Player_on_Linux_using_Pipelight

Unity 5 will have a Web version for Linux, in that projects can be exported as WebGL + JavaScript, with no more plug-ins needed.

P.S. I suggest adding this tidbit to any more new queries about Unity 3D Web Player on Linux. I know there are lots of questions about it on here.
There will never be a Unity web player for Linux. WebGL is a different platform.
It's not a different platform. It's still a browser, which can be considered a "platform" in this case. The whole role of the Unity 3D Web Player to play in a browser.
The whole reason everyone on Linux keeps asking about Unity 3D Web Player is because most Windows devs that use Unity 3D keep exporting to Windows or Web, completely disregarding Linux as anything.
The whole reason Linux users keep asking is in the hope that we can play some of those thousands of Unity games we're missing out on because of this behavior. We were hoping it would be a replacement for Flash, but much like Flash (no more version updates), Linux has been left out. It really doesn't matter how it's done, as long as it's "Have browser, will play".
It is a different platform. Content for the web player (which is what the question is asking) will not work in WebGL. The question wasn't "will there be some kind of web delivery platform for Linux".
