Import Model Question (.obj Sketchup)

Quick question, trying to figure out why when I import a model into unity.

Note: I am getting two different results. I am new to 3D modeling.

Model in Google Sketchup:

Model in Unity:

Notice the extra lines I pointed to!

I don't know if this is do to .obj format I know unity deals with .fbx well and doubt this would be the problem. I exported from Sketchup using double sided faces.

I know there are probably better programs for model design like Blender or Maya or whatever I just find Google Sketchup incredibly intuitive and have done other objects that come out just fine. Also the 3D stuff I need are not very extravagant.

One last thing, it seems the problem lies in the mesh and not the actual .obj.

Hmm well writing this I did notice how the model lies on the x and z axis, my first thing I will try is to raise the model up before exporting maybe.

$$anonymous$$y last effort did not help, I thought maybe it was rendering the ground or something that intersected the model. Silly me.
