Question by xDNataraDx · Apr 02, 2013 at 11:33 PM · slender

How to get an object / AI to follow you?

I'm asking this, because I am trying to make a slender game at the moment, and this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqqxlyPsAoQ That Im using for a reference of what should happen, my slender script im using is

 var playerTarget : Transform;// Target of Slender

var speed : int = 5; var rotationSpeed : float = 2.5; var slenderPosition : Transform;// Slender's Current Position

 function Awake () {
 slenderPosition = transform;
 }

 function Start () {
 playerTarget = GameObject.FindWithTag("Player").Transform;
 }

 function Update () {
 slenderPosition.rotation = Quaternion.Slerp(slenderPosition.rotation, Quaternion.LookRotation(playerTarget.position - slenderPosition.position) , rotationSpeed*Time.deltaTime);

 }

But, Like in the video, My slender doesnt have a "Starting position" catagory in the object, How can i do this?

Im sorry, im a bit stupid when it comes to trying to script like this.

Its not allowing me to drag and drop the script for the "Slender starting position" Like he does in the video.

Add this line inside of Update():

 slenderPosition.position = Vector3.MoveTowards(slenderPosition.position, playerTarget.transform.position, Time.deltaTime * speed);
