Making objects sway in the wind
I am making a scene that's based out at sea in a storm and I want to make a lantern that hangs off a chain which is attached to a pole and sways in the wind. How can I go about creating a model with a chain and lantern that is able to swing in the wind, and create a wind effector in Unity?
Note: I use Cinema 4d, Blender and 3DS Max for 3d modelling. C4D is the preferred option. Also I use Unity 4 Pro
I am new to scripting complicated things, and I did create an I$$anonymous$$ chain in C4D which works with the model but I don't know how to import that into Unity
you should attach comments with the "add new comment" button under your original question if you have info to add rather than posting additional info as an "answer". good luck with the question
Haha thanks zombience I honestly didn't see that tiny Post Comment button :L Also I am so tired it's unreal, but thanks for the heads up :) I owe you one
That's good, thanking them too. I'm wondering how to go about exporting an I$$anonymous$$ chain from C4D to Unity

Hello,
Why not, instead of using physics and writing a script to randomly generate force on the rigidbody of the lantern, why not just create a lantern, rig and animate it. Then you can have wind without having a large impact on performance :)
Hope this helps,

PS: Yes I described both ways :P
