Unity Lightmapping: Doesn't work on very big objects?
Hi, in this scene, there are 3 objects of the same geometry, with 2 of them scaled to about 50 times bigger.
Basically, what I've found is, objects can only be lightmapped when they are under certain size.
I tried to increase the "Scale in lightmap" all the way up to 100000000 and all the way down to -100000000 and it still wouldn't bake.
Does anyone know the reason for this? How can I lightmap this very big object?
Thanks guys!!
I think the problem lies simply in that: - either the model is too big, or: - the model is not too big, but very complex.
For example, I created a generic plane, and set it's "scale in lightmap" to 1000000000 (1e+09, or 9 zeros behind it), and the plane was able to have lightmap baked onto it up until scale 500. But when I scaled it up even more, to 50000, light map stops working.
Have you guys experienced the same thing? How did you guys overcome this problem?
Thanks!
