Standard shader not working on procedural mesh
my mesh generated from code isn't allowing shadows to be cast on it or giving off the same effect of the new standard shader in unity 5.
here is an image of whats happening.

You mentioned you generate this mesh yourself. Did you set the normals and UV arrays for the mesh too? The normal array will define how light falls on the mesh, and the UVs define how to map a texture onto the mesh.
got it working properly. i used mesh.recalculateNormals() to apply normals to the mesh.
