Best Practices: Import Assets or Build in Unity
Hey everyone, been playing with Unity for the last few months in the off-hours. Getting close to releasing my first game using Unity. In this endless 2D runner, I have a lot of detailed assets, illustrated, that make sense for me to import as assets.
As I start building UI elements, I find myself following the pattern of building assets outside of Unity and importing them. (In this context, we're taking very simple shapes and basic colors.)
My ask for you all is this: Whether for performance, file size, or personal preference, what is/are best practice(s) for visual assets and Unity? With my limited experience, I'm assuming this is a question between crafting the assets and importing them or crafting the assets directly in Unity.
Any feedback or guidance is welcome!
Cheers!
