Mecanim, Share Transitions?
I have a bunch of "flair" animations that show something happening but aren't really necessary to gameplay and so don't change what the character is capable of. Stuff like landing on the ground, turning around, going into crouch mode, looking upward, etc. Many of these animations come from the idle/run animation and I'd like for them to borrow the idle animation transitions, that way if the character is in the landing animation they can still go to the turn animation or crouch animation if the conditions are met.
Is there any good way to do something like this without adding transitions from every flair animation to every animation that the idle connects to?
I would do a BlendTree in the Idle state. The BlendTree would have RandomIdle (a float) as its BlendParameter, and externally I would take care of changing the RandomIdle to make the randomnes happen.
