shadertransparencyalphablur
Is it possible to create a blur effect based on the alpha of a transparent texture on a plane?
I'm trying to create a shadow effect behind a character with customizable parts (Head, Hair, Clothes, etc.)
The parts will all be textures swapped out on planes that will remain the same size for all of the parts.
I want to copy all of those parts back behind the character and fill them all black (that's the easy part), then add a blur effect to all of them so it looks like a shadow behind the character (can't find any shader modifiers that do this).
This image should give you an idea of what I mean.
Any ideas?
PS. I could just embed the shadow on the actual body part textures but that would make the hair cast a shadow on the head and the shirt on the pants which goes against the art style we're trying for.
