I have solved the problem myself with the help from Chronos-L
GUI from photoshop
Hi,
Earlier this week I made some GUI for my game in photshop CS5. When I imported the GUI, however, The GUI had white outlines round the shape and the image itself. I only found this problem with the GUI which wasn't square (the gears).
If anyone could help I would be very greatful
Here is the gear import settings

Can you show the import setting for the gear texture? It might help.

I used the same setting as yours, put the texture in a GUItexture, but I don't get any white edge. I am using a very quick 5-$$anonymous$$ render in Blender.
I can think of 2 reason now:
masking/alpha issue in the layers: Have you use a black-layer in your photoshop to see if the effect is happening in Photoshop?
Artifacts in importing: What size are you exporting and what size are you importing into Unity?
Then I am sorry that I can't be of help anymore. The only way I can contribute now is to give you the image I used, you can use it to check what have gone wrong at your side, Unity or the image/Photoshop?

I have had the same problem a while ago. Saving the layers out as pngs and importing those worked for me. -cheers
