Question by djisadj · Jun 28, 2012 at 08:29 PM · rotate

Rotation Problem

Hi, I have recently been working on a game. I finally finished shooting, not the animations just shooting. So I moved on to making the character. I am not a modeler to I downloaded a free soldier from the Asset store. I tried to set him up when something that has never happened before happened. The rotation was messed up. When I attempt to rotate something, it isn't stuck to it's base, vice versa. For example, when I try to rotate the leg, it begins to contort the hip when rotating, and pulling it apart. I used another character model too, so it isn't this one in particular. I would really appreciate some help! Thanks!

Does the character have animations attached? Can you provide a screenshot of the problem?

Well the bones of a character may have an influence on multiple parts of the mesh. Are you only rotating not moving things? You shouldn't move transforms, just rotate the joints.

I am not moving them, just rotating, but it is moving. What could I do to the bones?

The bones affect on the mesh is the configured by the model and not normally messed with inside Unity.
