Open World Environment
Is it possible to create an open world environment, with a relatively high amount of detail, that does not require the player to load up at certain, pre-determined areas. Examples of what I want to achieve would be the landscapes in Fallout: New Vegas, Just Cause 2, and MineCraft. Maybe the world will load in the background as the player walks, I'm not sure. If this is possible, how would I go about achieving this?

Yes, you can use proximity and view detection to fire LoadLevelAdditive or get asset bundles or load models (like OBJ) on the fly.
