3D Text affected by image effect

I have 3d text in a scene which is going to be my main menu.The main camera has the Global Fog image effect applied, and the text is appearing behind this fog despite the fact that it is in the foreground, not far enough back to be affected (in theory). How can I make it so the text is not affected by the global fog image effect?
