(Noob) Losing material color from Maya to Unity?
Very new to modeling and unity, but brought my oject into Unity and had all the colors the way I wanted (just via basic materials and colors no actual texturing) but when I export (have tried .fbx and mayaacii) it imports with none of its colors (although they are recognized in the inspector but not loaded)
Is there an easy way to just export with all of my colors? Because I don't know where maya saves the material even if I wanted to manually reload them in unity.
Thanks
Your question title says "from $$anonymous$$aya to Unity" but your body text says "I made an object in Unity"...
Oh sorry about that, I meant brought INTO unity.
I found that exporting as mayascii kept the color but it still didn't come out right. I have a slight transparency on the object to add effect but when it is brought into Unity it is much $$anonymous$$ORE transparent than my maya object. Is there a way to edit the transparency so that it is less "see-through"?
any help on this? I created in maya and want to bring into unity... without losing the material / texture
You have to create a material in Unity3d, select a shader, import and then add on the texture and normal maps (if you have them)
