Google Sites for hosting my game + issue tracking
Hi,
I would like to get my game on a very simple google-sites site I made (or am planning on making xD) though I don't really know how, or if it is even possible. I'm currently hosting the webplayer of my game on my dropbox account and people can play it there.
So my question now is how do I get it so that when people go to my google-sites site they can play it in there (not just a link to the dropbox url, but actually play it on the website) ? I also was wondering if there was a simple way to implement an issue tracking system there too ? So people can give feedback on bugs and request new features.
And if this is not possible, perhaps someone knows a good alternative ?
Thanks ! -Pablo

I can help with the google site:
You can attach your .unity3d file to the google site page, copy the url.
Editing you page add a Google Gadget Insert->More gadgets.
Select "Add gadget form URL" and use this url: http://hosting.gmodules.com/ig/gadgets/file/107336974425229758999/unity1.xml
Configure the gadget:
In "Web Player Url" fild insert the url copied before, set the widht and height
aha perfect ! I found the 2.6 gadget thingy, which seemed to work vor 3.3 only on Chrome in $$anonymous$$ac it didn't load, yet this one does ! Thought I answered my own question, but apparently not :P Thanks a lot !
Hi, this gadget works great, only one problem: I can't find how to disable the rightclick context menu. perhaps you know how ? Thanks !
Nvm, I fixed it myself already :D I downloaded the xml file, and addeed the disableContext$$anonymous$$enu tag: http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/$$anonymous$$anual/WebPlayerBehaviorTags.html
The gadget has updated upated with these parameters: disableContext$$anonymous$$enu, disableExternalCall and disableFullscreen. Yo can set these parameters in the gadget configuration. I have set a google code page http://code.google.com/p/unity3d-gadget/
Thanks fo, I have update maceloroca gadget for google sites with new UnityObject2.js and now it works on chrome
you can download script here : http://www.diotasoft.com/unityongooglesites.xml

A good alternative? Facebook!
(But your game will still be hosted on your dropbox account.)
It is free of charge, you get your apps own profile page with Discussions, Reviews etc., a lot of statistics information e.g. Active Users (incl. Demographics), Performance, Blocks and Likes, the (powerful) Graph-API ... and if you use Facebook Credits you can make zillions :-)
Not really what I was looking for. The game I'm making is a turn-based strategy (Advance Wars-like), and I want to use the site to post on fan-forums and stuff, so a more specific audience than anyone. Also facebook is so impersonal and childish, I want some actually good feedback. $$anonymous$$aybe later it could be a good idea, but since I'm now just developing and in like alpha stage, I want to have more professional feedback from people who have been playing this kind of games for ages ^^ Thanks anyways !
For professional feedback you should post your game also to the Unity Forums/Showcase.
