Pressing Play with the console tab showing freezes Unity.
When I press the play button with the console tab showing, Unity freezes and I have to close it through the Task Manager. If I close the console tab, everything goes smooth. Debugging without the console is a pain, so I need to discover why it's happening.
It happens on Unity 4.5.2, 4.6.7 and has already happened on previous versions.
Anyone has any ideas?
Do you have the "Error Pause" alternative active in the console window?
Have you checked if there is a big loop in one of your scripts calling a Debug Log (in a Start or Awake function ) ?
What does the output_log file say ?
NullReferenceExceptions erupting forth like pustulent volcanoes of game-death.
If you create a new (empty) project and hit play with the console open, does it still freeze?
If the log file is huge, find where the Debug.Log are called and comment them. You will be able to find them "easily" since the log file tells you where ther Debug.Log has been called.

Reducing drastically the amount of log data fixed the issue on Unity 4.6.7.
The strange thing is this wasn't necessary to be made in Unity 4.5.2 or 4.5.5. Log output is one of the most important debug tools and should be able to output as much information as needed!
Thanks for all the support!
Input/Ouput operations has always been very heavy for the CPU. If you open a file, write something inside, and close it hundred of times per seconds, it will slow down the execution for sure !
Glad you have found a solution.
