MMO Player Hosting
Hello
I’ve been doing a fair amount of research into creating an mmo kind of game, currently I’ve been working with SmartFox to get an idea how everything works.
One of my main goals for my project is allowing my players to host their own versions of my game on their own machine- so that they can personally edit the game to suit their play style or community etc.
My question is what would be the best program/process to achieve this? After looking over smartfox and proton they look more suited to one server hosting one or more big games, if my players wanted to host their own game they'd have to setup smartfox which is not a step I want to burden them with.
Where should I be looking to make this work? Or is this something I would have to build myself?
Thanks,
Akuma
Find or build your own engine and tools that allows modding and setup your own server to handle connections and send/recieve information to all connected games.
Good luck!
