MAX To FBX Without Unity Project Data Loss
I have a bunch of MAX files in my project which Unity is importing .... I want to shift my project over to my Mac now so I can build it to iPhone but I don't have 3DS Max on OS X so Unity wont import the MAX files.
Back in Windows if I open each MAX file in and export as FBX then Unity treats it as a new prefab and I lose all the animation data I've setup with the MAX files.. Names, timings, baked transforms, animator links etc.
How can I convert these MAX files into FBX without losing all the setup I've done with them in my project?
