Obviously you have to provide your script so I know what is going on. BOZO!

Spheres can and will stop by friction alone, but it's an extremely slow process, since they have a nearly-infinitely small point of contact with the ground.

Consider friction on the basis of friction per square foot. The point of contact for the sphere is on the order of 1/1,000,000 of a square foot, so you're applying virtually no friction to it naturally.

so is there a way to amplify the friction of a sphere?

You can either play with Physic $$anonymous$$aterial properties and/or add drag for artificial friction, basically.

Edit: Well, and Angular Drag, since it's the matter of a ball rolling, specifically.
