Detonator replacement for mobile?

I am using detonator framework, and want to use a more mobile optimized system (or steps to create such a system) as my game will be cross platform. I do not need force or the physics interaction system (except for particles of the explosion) and will not move objects using force from the explosion.

How can I create such a system? Should I create a script that generates a mobile particle optimized system for effects such as blasts, smoke, debris, sparks, etc? If so, what particle system should I use? Shuriken?

If there is an alternate system out there for mobile, instead of Detonator, what is it?
