Error joining threads

Can someone, probably from Unity Technologies, tell me when is this error logged and what does it mean? I've observed it only on iOS. Part of one of the call stacks:

 Error joining threads: 3
 at System.Environment.get_StackTrace()

This error showed up after adding:

 Thread.Sleep //on thread pool thread
 AutoResetEvent.WaitOne //also on thread pool thread

I don't use Thread.Join anywhere.
