Question by BrianS. · Jan 30, 2015 at 05:47 PM · windowslinuxwebcamtexturewebcam

Dual Webcams work under Windows but not Linux

We are doing some testing with webcams and textures. We believe everything is set up properly, and everything works under windows without an issue.

When we export to Linux (Ubuntu 14.4) only the first of the two webcams provides a picture. We have tried multiple cameras, and multiple configurations.

If we just ask for one webcam/texture.. it works just find under Linux. As soon as we add a second, it only works under windows. Open for suggestions. Maybe the multiple camera stuff isn't caught up on the linux side?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

sorry I can't help you with an answer but I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction to have multiple webcam textures each playing a different webcam feed each at the same time. I keep getting the same errors "could not start graph" and "could not pause pControl". this erros are thrown when I try to play the second webcamtexture

This is my simple test script, this script is attached to a plane gameobject, I have two of these game objects in the scene and of course two webcams.

  `public int cam;

     WebCamTexture w;

     // Use this for initialization
     void Start () {

         w = new WebCamTexture(WebCamTexture.devices[cam].name);
                 renderer.material.mainTexture = w;
         w.Play();

     }`

Best option would be to file a bugreport if you can reproduce the issue on the latest build. Does not seem intended to be honest.
