Unity porting (windows, linux, ect)
Unity has the choice to port games (like windows, apple even the PS3, X Box if you have the means to)
What I'm wonder is...does it require any extra programming to get game to work when you...port them (if I'm using it the word in the right context) or does it still require extra programing to allow the game to work on other platforms?
Really, only on xbox/ps3/wiiu and ios/android, do require real "porting", consoles need porting with the gui, and mobile needs EXTRE$$anonymous$$E optimization and a new input system. P.S: I read but do not know if it is true(read on playrust.com), that linux and mac can be more laggy(although this may just be lies) that windows.
So basically, linux, mac, and windows do not require porting when changing between platform(all use same input/gui), but console and mobile need it in some areas.
Check out the manual. Towards the bottom there are sections for each of the platforms ($$anonymous$$us the consoles).
