MonoDevelop Freezes on Launch

I'm having an issue with MonoDevelop freezing on launch after updating Unity to 3.1.0f4 on my Windows 7 - 64bit machine and can't figure out how to fix it.

I tried the new version on 32bit machine and it worked perfectly.

Any help or advice would be fantastic, thank you.

Are you opening MonoDevelop by clicking on a script in the project view in Unity? If so, try opening MonoDevelop first (C:\Program Files\Unity\MonoDevelop\bin\MonoDevelop.exe), and once it is open, then try clicking on a script in Unity and see if it freezes...

I'm not fully sure, but it may be a thing to do with your 64-bit OS. It shouldn't be though, because I would have thought that Unity would take 64-bit operating systems into consideration, and not just 32-bit ones. That shouldn't be the issue, but it could be...

Thanks for your quick reply Grady.

Unfortunately I have tried doing that and I have also tried running it as ad$$anonymous$$istrator and a few different compatibility modes.

I did a fresh install after clearing the registry files and I still get the same problem.

$$anonymous$$aybe I'm missing a service pack? I remember a while back Unity was telling me I was missing one.

Thanks.

Yeah, make sure you have all the windows 7 updates.

Then make sure that you have upgraded unity to the latest version.

I just installed every single update possible and it still persists!

Yes, I updated to the latest version as it came out and this is when the problem started occurring.

Yes, I updated on the day it came out and I've been having the problem every day I've tried since.

I really don't want to have to use Uniscite :c
