Shuriken Subemitter Emission broken in Playmode.
Hi there.
So my problem in short.
I create a particle system, spawning some particles. Then i add a sub emitter which uses death as spawn condition(it happens for birth and collision the same way..). Now i turn the max particle count to 3 for the sub emitter. In the editor for each parent particle dying it emits 3 sub emitter particles as intended. So but now if i press play and watch this. The first parent particle dies and emits the 3 sub emitter particles, but the following parent particles dying will not emit any new sub emitter particles until the 3 first ones are dead... which is kinda bad...
any tips or suggestions?
cheers
I have the same problem.. i have 2 sub emitters. 1 works fine, the other just emits 1 quick burst every second or 2. Doesnt emit based on every particle that it subemits from... any idea?

Resurrecting this post as I have the same problem I've not been able to get sub-emitters to work correctly in game mode ever. It's a powerful feature for a somewhat limited particle editor and it's pretty disappointing that it doesn't work. I'm surprised there hasn't been more reporting or discussion of this issue.

Yeah, its weird how it works differently in the editor than in playmode. Setting the max particles on your sub emmitter in play mode is the Maximum of any of those particles alive at once. so since its set to 3, only 3 will ever be alive at the same time regardless of how many times its fired. Setting it to a higher number will ensure that each time there is a parent death, another three will get fired. Control the amount released each time with bursts rather than max particles.
It took me a while to figure that one out too... was driving me nuts.
