A good terrain engine for Unity ?
Hi there,
I have a game I would like to prototype, but for this I need a voxel terrain engine with a programmer-friendly API for runtime terrain generation on a worker thread.
I know there are a lot of engines on the asset store, but all of them cost money. Honestly I don't mind paying, but what bothers me is that none I could find have a trial version. The only one I could find is Cubiquity, but it doesn't seem to be maintained anymore, and I can't even get the collider to work.
What would you suggest ?

Terrain editors are expensive but can change the gameplay in a magical way ... Below is by far the best terrain editors (of-course paid) that allows you to create terrain manually or procedural or both (not sure about World Creator)
The OP asked for a voxel terrain engine - AFAI$$anonymous$$ Gaia and WCP only support heightmap/mesh terrains, not voxel terrains.
Hi, I have indeed seen Voxeland in the Asset Store, but while it seems cool, I couldn't find any information regarding the API. I don't $$anonymous$$d spending 100 bucks on a tool, I just want to be sure it actually fits my needs. Did anyone around here use it ?
Never used Voxeland, but I do use $$anonymous$$ap$$anonymous$$agic which is a different tool from the same author and that's brilliant - very well written and supported.
