Question by herringscott · Mar 22, 2012 at 09:36 PM · iosactivationandriod

free andriod and IOS activation

I just downloaded Unity 3.5 from the store with the new deal for IOS and Android development for free until April the 8th. I've downloaded it and received an email code but i don't know how to activate it! I reinstalled Unity with the new downloaded copy I've had Unity Installed before the new Free license came out, but i don't know where to go to activate the free licenses!

Anything helps! Thank you!

-Scott

https://store.unity3d.com/index.html

Select 'free' then 'add to cart' the iOS and Android, then checkout, then answer questions, then finish, then you are good to go.

The email they send has the serial. Copy that, go back to Help/Enter Serial and get back to that web page where you 'buy' things. Near the bottom is the 'enter your code' field. Paste it there and finish.

You could build iOS on Windows, but Steve don't like that. So he's prohibited it. So you can't do it in Unity, not legally. To build iOS you NEED a nice expensive Mac. You can build for Mac Standalone ok on Windows, they allow that.

I did that, and nothing really seems to change with Unity... I look under the build settings and I can't select the IOS or Androiod platforms, it actually says that it can't build IOS apps on windows (which is wrong), and that my license does not cover android. I downloaded the free features from the store and did not receive any questions to fill out. I just got a recipt for my free purchase and an email for my activation code. it gives me instructions for internet activation and nothing happens! I'm still puzzled. I'm new with Unity and I don't knw if i'm doing something wrong or if i'm missing something. I still need help.

You should use 'add new comment' not Answer unless you really are answering your own question. See my edits above.
