What Would Make Terrain Disappear ?
My "Terrain" suddenly disappeared and I can't quite seem to get it back (I can't make it visible).
It still shows in the hierarchy and I can double click it in the hierarchy, press the "F" key...all that. I can shut down Unity and restart it and reload the program but the problem remains. Nothing shows. I checked my layers, etc. I don't think that is a problem. I have a nav mesh "baked" on the terrain...funny thing, I can see the baked area (blue area) but the terrain remains invisible.
This has occurred twice. I ended up deleting the old terrain and adding a new one. Since I was just testing some other parts of a program I hadn't done much to the terrain other than adding a nav mesh to it...but I could see how this could be a huge problem if I had added a lot of terrain features and then it suddenly became invisible.
Any ideas on why this would happen?

Is your terrain disabled? Select your terrain and look in the inspector, make sure Terrain collider and Terrain are enabled. I had a problem where disabling the collider would make it disappear.
Thanks. With your help, I found that occasionally when I crash Unity by certain code errors that it makes a change in the inspector for the terrain.
I looked into what you suggested and by adding the info back into the inspector I was able to get the terrain to reveal itself.
Thank you kindly for taking the time to answer my question.
